after you have downloaded the file [s7117enx.exe] double click on it ,it will then install itself ,as the driver is for Vista you will have to install in compat mode http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/316-compatibility-mode.html hope this helps :)
Okay i downloaded the file from that site again.
It is named "lide20lide30n670un676un1240uvst7031a_xpen" I clicked properties and ran as vista service pack 2.
Then it made a new file on my desktop and inside it was some program called SetupSG. So I clicked propertied and ran it as vista service pack 2 and double clicked it.

Nothing really happened.

I'm sorry, but I don't think you're going to have any luck. :(

I also have one of these scanners, and have tried numerous times to get it to work in Windows 7 without any success.

While I'm sure that's true it doesn't mean that another way may not have been found to get that scanner working.

Hey, I am in need of a windows 7 driver for my Scanner.

http://www.sevenforums.com/drivers/81092-driver-needed-canoscan-lide-30-a.html
http://www.sevenforums.com/drivers/5530-canoscan-lide-600f.html
http://www.sevenforums.com/drivers/32568-canon-lide-50-scanner-wont-install.html
http://www.sevenforums.com/drivers/46741-canoscan-lide20-64bit-driver.html

In just about everyone of those instances, this has worked....

You could try Vuescan from Hamrick if you can't find a driver for the scanner, though the cost of the software/driver will be $40 for the basic, $80 for the pro. There is a trial version to try for 30 days as well.

Supported scanners - VueScan Release Notes

Good luck

You might want to give it a try.

I don't partically like advising someone buy a software to get their scanner to work, but it's better than having to purchase a new one. That's why I suggest Vuescan.

Luckily someone provided a hacked inf file to allow the Nikon Scan software for the Nikon Coolscan scanners to work under Window 7 and Vista x64. I have a post here on how to use it - http://www.sevenforums.com/drivers/44994-getting-your-nikon-coolscan-work-w7-x64.html

Perhaps there's something on the net for Canon?
