The link you can't open, does it appear in blue and is it ubderscored. It may be the sender that has the problem. Send an email to yourself with a link that you copy and past from your browsers address bar including the http:\\ and see it that works.

Hi Sylvia - What e-mail program are you using? Does this only happen with links in emails? Check out this thread for some possible fixes - In Windows 7 I can't open links..

Cheers,

I found that an update was the cause of this for me. I uninstalled the update and problem disappeared. It was an IE update; but I do not remember which one.

Hi CArl
And did that update effect your email program?

Yes. Email links no longer worked in Outlook. Since I had just installed the update, it was my first suspect. I uninstalled it rather than do a system restore in order to verify that the update was the problem.

I had the problem of accessing links in windows 7 it was fine at first and then one of the add on's knocked it out I had just about given up after twelve months.
But the answer was so simple I could kick myself.
Go to control pannel select default progammes to open with
and select open with internet explorer and that will let you open the links in windows live mail and outlook.
