Can't add a partition primary

If you don't have a permanent scan antivirus, download Combofix ComboFix Download
If you're not sure your antivirus/antimalware is "alive" all the time, disable them temporarily before running Combofix. This is very important since if your antivirus is up and running and you run Combofix you may damage your computer. Anyway, Combofix will tell you what programs you must shut down.

Running Combofix will clean all malware and would be of great help if your problems are caused by malware.

If you are unsure of manufacturer I would use Seagate seatools to examine the disc as Greg suggested, any errors and I would just buy a new drive

Just a thought.

I know of no good reason to go off site for tutorials to install Windows 7.

Anthonyz99
Just follow Golden and gregrocker instruction and tutorials and you will be okay.

I do not recommend using Combofix unless recommended by a train person and under their guidance.
You can get in a world of trouble with Combofix if you don't know what you are doing.

Running Combofix poses no problems. What you need expert support for is to analize the log that Combofix shows at the end and that copy of it will be found on C:\Combofix.txt. You can also save that report to any place you want.

The report will show you computer entries or movements, some of which may be malware or contain malware. You can identify the guilty lot by checking the day the problem showed up with the dates shown in the Combofix log.

But that doesn't mean that all entries on that date are malware or malware bearers. That is when you need someone who knows to sift over the data and suggest which destination should be erased and what not. Many times you shouldn't erase anything because no malware was found and your problem was caused by bad registry entries or missing .dll files in System 32 or any other malfunction that has nothing to do with viruses or malware.

There's no problem running it provided any scanning protection program is disabled.

You might find something obvious, like a file called
C:\1234567.bin or C:\programdata\ntuser.pol or

C:\users\yourname\appdata\roaming\somethingyouneverheardof\installer\tempfile.t

or same string with . . . . \installer\ab.test.json

These are obvious candidates for deletion and I would delete them at once. But many files are not so obvious, and that is where you need expert help.

Do not use Combofix on your own!!
This is a 'specialized/heavy duty tool' and it can render your computer as a doorstop if not used without trained supervision.

Please don't download and run it unless you are asked to do so by a "certified" malware instuctor who has gone through the use and special training of this Application.

You have been warned.
