Can't boot (Windows 7), HDD seems unrecognizable

Hi all, I seriously need some help...

3 days ago, while I was working, the computer got freezed and a blue screen showed up.

After that, I can't boot windows. I tried everything, repair start, booting in safe mode, booting on normal mode.. Nothing works.

When I try to boot on safe mode, the last driver getting loaded or the one that always is stuck is:
aswbidsha.sys

I tried unplugging the HDD and conect it to another computer, to backup files, but is not recognizable.

My brother tried a program called ntfs4dos from Avira wich allowed him to "navigate" through the HDD, and every folder seems to be ok.

He tried chkdsk but seems it can't detect the drive. We tried to repair the system from the windows7 dvd, but nothing. We recently discover a "trick" that allows to open a notepad.exe from command console and choose open and copy the files to a flash drive. But it shows 2 disk partitions, one called "Reserved for the system" (C: ) wich is about 100mb, and another one, (D: ) which must be the one containing all the data.
But we can't click on that.

Today, my brother told me that is possible that the mbr is corrupt. Or the bootsec.

If someone could at least give us some light.. some tips for what it could be at least or what to do.. I'll be so grateful... I've lost the work from the entire past year...

Any help is welcome.

Thanks for reading.

Create a Linux Live DVD, and boot the computer from the DVD, booting into Linux Live. (Nothing is written to your hard drive by doing this.) Now plug in the external drive, and see if you can get your files off of it. If so, copy them to an alternate location.

Now, to fix the drive, run GPARTED. Delete all partitions on the external hard drive, and create a new, big NTFS partition for the entire drive. Now format that partition as NTFS.

* MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO THE GPARTED STUFF ON THE EXTERNAL DRIVE, NOT ON ANOTHER DRIVE!! DOUBLE CHECK BEFORE PROCEEDING!!

Now reboot the computer, this time booting into Windows. You will now be able to use your external drive.

It's easy to create a Linux Live DVD -- go here and download the 64-bit version of xfce:

https://linuxmint.com/download.php

Once you have downloaded the file, put a blank DVD into the drive, and double click on the download. It will be clear how to proceed.

Then, as you are booting the computer, as soon as your splash screen disappears, start hitting F10, to get the boot menu. Pick CD/DVD.

Welcome to the Fomum.
To help us to help you, please edit your profile with all your hardware specs. System Info - See Your System Specs - Windows 7 Help Forums

As I understand, it is your main boot drive that failed.

I would say that your disk has a hardware fail and is dying but can also be a software problem.
After you recover your data we can make some tests to find out what is the problem.
As MrJimp suggested, make a boot able linux CD/DVD or USB flash drive, boot your computer with it and try to copy your data to an external disk. I use Lubuntu. lubuntu 17.10 Artful Aardvark released lubuntu

Thanks a lot guys, really, I appreciate the help.

I've downloaded linux mint iso, and when I tried to mount it to copy the files, I get this:
Imgur: The magic of the Internet

On the right, it says the drive is OK, but it has 22 bad sectors :(
Any suggestions? On NTFS for Dos, my brother was able to copy a single file containing some C# code, and it was perfect.

I believe (or hope) that the files are ok. Maybe the HDD is dying, but it's weird.. the HDD was completely new, it has less than 10 months.

Again, thanks a lot. Really.
PS: Thanks SIW2 for the boot media.

Hello.
Back up all data on the hard drive and try to do a low level format on the hard drive, and test the disk again.
It has worked for me ones when bad sectors followed through a disk cloning.
But even new things can be defective from factory....10 month, then you should have warranty left so you can replace it

Bad sectors and / or bad clusters means your drive is dying.

Buy a small SSD (128G) for Windows and programs, a HDD for data and a HDD to make backups.
During Win 7 installation move the C:\Users to D:\Users (Use Kari tutorial, very easy). I can guide you as I did on my desktop.

On the backup drive also install win 7 and install the backup and disk image software. Once a week, attach the power cable and do your data backup.
