I just newly purchase a windows 7 ultimate computer...I added it to my network..I can connect to other computers running windows xp professional but they can't connect to it. There are in the same workgroup. I have one system running windows NT not XP and I can see it in my network but I can connect to it. I can connect to the system running windows XP and I can't connect to just one system running windows NT.

It prompts for a password and username acccount login to connect to the sytem running windows nt.

Can't anyone help me out with this.

Go to Control Panel->Network and Sharing->Change Sharing Options for Different Network Profiles, and there in Password Protected sharing select Turn off password protected sharing.
This would help you.
And why you need poll?

I already did that. It's not still responding, it's still prompting for password when i try to login to the system running Windows NT. But it doesn't prompt for password when am accessing the system running Windows XP professional sp2.

It only prompts when i try to login to the one running Windows NT.
Its a HP Mini Tower, running Windows Ultimate 32 Bits.

This requires that you change the lanman server parimeters in order to get Windows 7 working with older servers. Do these adjustments on the Windows 7 machines that need to connect to the server.

Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Local Security Policy

Local Policies - Security Options

Network security: LAN Manager authentication level
Set to Send LM & NTLM responses only

Set the Minimum session security for NTLM SSP
Disable Require 128-bit encryption

The screen shots below should be helpful.

Reboot all machines after making the adjustment.
