Can't copy a file

What software is installed? Maybe one is interfering with this specific file copy.

Download and install CCleaner from the following link: CCleaner - Standard

During installation, uncheck the option to install the Yahoo toolbar.

Start CCleaner. Click on Tools (ICON) and Select the following BUTTONS to create two (2) text files:

• Uninstall > Save to text file (install) – bottom right corner of app window
• Startup > Save to text file (startup)

Locate and open each saved file in the ‘Documents’ FOLDER:

• Copy and paste the contents of each file into your next post (2 files).

Here's another test for you. Try opening an Elevated Command Prompt and then try using XCOPY. Let's see if it works.

Right click LTL.exe and choose copy as path. Copy the file path into the command shown here:

xcopy "Full file path" D:\ /c /d /h /i /k /q /p /r /s /x /y

Replace D: with the drive letter where you want to copy the file to or additionally add a folder - example D:/TEST if you have created a folder named TEST

Here's an example - just a simple text file copy:

Using xcopy with the switches suggested did let me copy the file so that is great news! I then tried executing the file from its new location but then it vanished again.

However this is a working solution in my case because I don't need to be able to execute the file from it's backup location, I only need being able to restore it from there to it's original location in the event of a disaster.

So...problem solved thank you very much and I guess the conclusion we could draw from this is the file indeed has some copy protection built into it which would explain why I was not allowed to execute the file from the backup location.
