I want to delete the previous "Windows" from the hard drive but get this message:

Please post back a screenshot of your maximized full Disk Mgmt drive map with listings using the Snipping Tool in Start Menu. Tell us exactly what you want to delete and where. We will give you the steps.

Can't delete old Windows

Thank you for offering to help. I'm attached a snippet screen shot of the C drive showing Windows and Windows 7 and a shot of everything under the previous Windows. The reason I want to delete the previous Windows is because it takes up so much space. Again, my thanks for your help and for the others who responded to this query before. ec

In the Windows start menu right click computer and click manage, in the left pane of the "Computer Management" window that opens click disk management and post a maximized snip of that.

Are you trying to delete the windows.old folder left over from an install, or are you trying to delete Windows?

If you are trying to delete Windows, which drive is it on in the screenshot? What OS is it?

If you are trying to delete windows.old, I am sorry I misunderstood your post which says you are trying to delete Windows from the HD:
