Unidentified network after power cut

Hello everyone,
I'm having some nasty troubles with Win7 lately and I thought this forum would be the right place for a resolve.

After a power cut, I can't connect to my router and as a result to the internet anymore. It keeps telling me the network is unidentified. I downloaded my motherboard's network driver (Asus M3N78-VM), installed it, then through Upgrade I selected the driver from NVidia as opposed to Microsoft. Did not work.

I then tried to Uninstall network drivers, or Disabling them. When doing that, my PC is in an infinite loop to uninstall the driver, or to disable it. Also changing IP setting manually and pressing Close in the Local Area Network window _sometimes_ makes my PC go stuck as well (often after disabling IPv6).

I do not have the Bonjour service running (says the Bonjour removal tool), I do have Adobe PS2 for some time and Adobe Reader...

It's hopeless, I can't think of what is wrong or how to remove the network driver properly. I'm up to a point to reinstall the OS, but that involves a lot of work, so if it can be done without it would be great.

Thanks in advance,
Dave

I can uninstall the network driver through Safe Mode. After starting in normal mode it reinstalls the driver, but it hangs again when pressing Close in the Local Area Network window. It also keeps searching in the driver file forder it says (the window when I clicked on the balloon that says it's installing the new driver).

Still no connection though, the yellow exclamation triangle is gone between me and the router, but that could be because it's still Identifying network...
