Can't figure out windows keyboard sound

OK I have windows 7 and I have a problem. When the computer turns on the onscreen keyboard comes up and as I'm typing with the touch screen .is there anyway to turn this off. While the computer is running windows after I log on it doesn't do it only during the password part. Or can I just take out the password setting to bypass that all together

It is possible to disable your account password by heading to User Accounts in Control Panel. Alternatively, click the account picture that appears right at the top of the Start menu when you call it up and this will take you directly to the same screen.

In the upper portion of the main screen will be "Change your password" and "Remove your password". Click on the latter and all you'll have to do is enter your password once (to confirm that you are the account owner) to be able to remove it. Job done!


As for turning off the onscreen keyboard. This is a feature of Windows tied in to the Accessibility options. On the OSK itself in the right hand side keys is one marked 'Options', and clicking this brings up -you guessed it- the options window. At the bottom of this is a blue underlined link 'Control whether the On-Screen Keyboard starts when I log on'. Clicking this brings up a control panel window with a very simple tick-box 'Use on-screen keyboard'. Just untick this to make OSK go away

OK I'll try that for the password. As for the keyboard I want the keyboard not the clicking sound I get from it when I start the PC up . If I get the password to be disabled then I guess there's no need for the clicking sound to be disabled. Let me go try the password part first and post my replys

Ah I didn't realise this is a touch-screen affair. As long as Windows is using the same OSK then the options button is still your salvation. At the top of the options window is "Use click sound"; untick that to disable the sound when you press a key on-screen.

If touch-screen Windows uses a different OSK, however, I'm afraid I'll have to defer to someone with greater experience of that particular OSK.

Another thing to explore is the Windows sounds list (right-click desktop -> personalise -> 'Sounds' clickable at the bottom). Scroll down the list that this option will bring up and see if there is an entry related to the on-screen keyboard.

OK I figured out the password issue thanks so on the other hand the tablet keyboard I use that was pre built in windows doesn't make that clicking sounds. But I went to the menu you told me about how I can change sounds or take them off and change what sound sceme I want and there is no keyboard options there so I'm do some more messing around with windows see what I come up with

Taking the password off made the issue go away so I just use the tablet keyboard .no clicking from that keyboard thanks

Now I can't get that keyboard off my screen when it loads .its the keyboard u can activate at the windows login screen since I took off the login option that menu isnt here
