Can't find %apppath% on installation

I am the only user on my laptop, but I have an admin account I use for program installations and a limited user account I use for normal day-to-day operations. I'm running Win. 7 Ultimate 32-bit on a Dell Inspiron 1720.

For the most part when installing a new program (or an update) I right click on an installation app icon & select run as administrator and this usually goes OK. Occasionally I will get an error message something along the lines of "can't find %app path%". This also happens if I am logged into the admin account - same results.

If memory serves me correctly, the two apps this happens with are iTunes (new install) and Incredimail (upgrade).

Anybody have any suggestions?

Thanks.

Alan

That is weird. This same behavior is happening to me since this last Wed. After QuickTime was available as an update, I installed it, and last night, I couldn't update iTunes nor Microsoft Security Essentials. However, things are even worse in here: my mouse does not responds to any click command while logged with the Admin account

Although my regular account is a limited account, and I have an Admin account ready for when an installation is needed, I will try to play around for a while with the safe mode administrator, removing both these apps and trying to install/uninstall again with my user, just as it used to work last week.

Otherwise, well, my x64 DVD is already on the drive :)
