oh. i thought you stated earlier that DVD was already 1st boot device.

Run Startup Repair up to 3 separate times.

Next, Make sure Win7 or it's 100mb System Reserved boot partition are marked Active using this method: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/71432-partition-mark-active.html Then run Startup Repair again x3.

You can copy out your files using the DVD following these steps: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/93347-copy-paste-windows-recovery-console.html

You may have User Account corrupted beyond repair, especially if you were using tweaking utilities or messing too much with your settings. Unfortunately you're not able to run a Repair Install until you can boot into Win7 - just the multitude of tests which Startup Repair runs.

You may need to reinstall.

I got in through safe mode and save all my files but it wouldnt repair or recover so I did a clean install and I'm almost back on top......To ALL you guys who tried to help me, I want to say THANK YOU! Some tips for a perfect clean install:

The installer is mostly driver-complete, with newer arriving quickly via optional Windows Updates. Any drivers then missing in Device Manager can be found on the Support Downloads webpage for your model computer or device. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1649-clean-install-windows-7-a.html

Install updates and then programs slowly over time to gauge performance after each. Don't let any programs write themselves into msconfig>Startup as they become freeloaders on your RAM/CPU and can spy on you. Use a lightweight free AV like MS Security Essentials which works perfectly with Windows 7 Firewall. http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/

Do not use any tweaking utilities or optimizer programs as Win7 is already perfectly balanced and optimized - these tweaks will always come back to bite you!

Thanks BFK, I have another little issue here, windows is prompting me that there are important updates that needed to be installed and when I do that I get the same problem I originally had, can anyone help?

It's stopping at Welcome screen when you try to install Windows Updates?

Has it restarted after the updates?

Did you have drivers to install in optional Updates? Do them first, then Important Updates.

You may need to System Restore to before the Updates, then install them in smaller groups.

When you get the group that includes the problem update, restore to before the group and change to installing the one-by-one until you hit on the problem update, system restore to install the rest.

Then open a Support Case with Windows Updates via email to resolve the problem update.

When computer won't start after update, need to boot the Win7 DVD Repair console to System Restore using the restore point set at update.

Now that you are reinstalling, gain control over updates by choosing not to install Updates automatically during install.

Then do small Update groups starting with Drivers and important security updates first, after installing AV.

Use MS Security Essentials to avoid conflicts.

If you hit on a group of updates that cause startup failure, immediately boot the Win7 DVD Repair console to run System Restore. Then do those updates separately until you find what caused the problem.

Are you getting a blue screen error at all? If necessary study the Event Viewer>Custom Views>Admin. to see if it reveals which Update caused the problem, or what else might have.

The first thing to do after the install finishes, is go to start, all programs, Windows update, upper left pane and click "Change Settings" and select "Never Check ... " that way you can selectively install updates 1 or 2 at a time so you can find the one causing issues.
