Guys I'm pulling my hair out here. I built a brand new PC and installed XP on it fine. I want to give Windows 7 a shot - but I cannot get it installed.

When I boot the windows 7 loader loads fine and stars the process, I get the nice blue picture background that says Loading - then I get this error

It is a Samsung Drive, model TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-S223C - I cannot find drivers for it I think they are generic but I can find firmware and have installed the latest versions.

Does anyone know how I can fix this problem?

The driver would be the chipset's SATA controller driver although since the WIn7 installer has most SATA drivers, this error can mean other things including a bad ISO download or burn. If you burned DVD, try burning another at 4x speed using ImgBurn.

You can try downloading SATA driver from Samsung's Support Downloads drivers webpage for your model, unzip to stick or CD to insert. See if HD shows up then.

Make sure you have the latest BIOS update, if so reset the CMOS: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/tp/clearcmos.htm

Set SATA controller in BIOS setup to AHCI first, then IDE mode if necessary.

But if you use a flash stick to install, it may bypass the error altogether. Install UltraISO trial, on File tab Open the ISO, on Bootable tab Write Disk Image, Format button, Write button. Boot under USB or HD's in one-time BIOS Boot Menu.

If you have store bought Win7, extract the ISO using ImgBurn.

Are you overinstalling a 32bit OS with Windows 7 64bit?
or
Are you dual booting?
