where can I find safe mode with networking? don't really have an idea about this one..please bear with me..

• Restart your computer
• Press and hold the F8 key for a couple of seconds, before the Windows logo appears as your computer boots. You might need to press the F8 key multiple times to enter the Advanced Options menu.
• On the Advanced Options screen, select the safe mode option you want and then press the Enter key. Safe mode or Safe mode with Networking is appropriate for most situations.
• Log on to your PC with an account with administrative rights.
• When you are working in safe mode, you can see the words Safe mode in the corners of the screen. You can exit safe mode anytime by restarting Windows normally.

Just logon with your account

Use your current windows account you use (the one you when you enter windows)

Then most probably you only have one account but the steps above should work

Sounds like everything was "preconfigured" by whoever you bought it from. Not necessarily helpful.

Taking it back is probably your best bet at this point since it looks like you have several problems. They shouldn't charge you anything if it's a new computer, but who knows.

Microsoft Security Essentials seems to be working for me as an antivirus and it's free from Microsoft so don't let them sell you an AV.

Once you get it squared away, I recommend installing Opera and sticking with the stable version of Firefox rather than a beta.
