On my laptop I had Dungeons and Dragons online. Then it crashed one day and the tech support at my school had to wipe it. They put a newer version of vista on than what I had. When I tried to re-install DDO, it wouldn't work. It crashed every time. I noticed every couple tries it would get closer to finishing the installation so I kept running it. After about a dozen tries, it stopped turning on. The tech support guy said it was a problem with vista and he could fix it. He wiped my computer again and put windows 7 on it (professional). So since he said it was a problem with Vista, I figured I could install it now. But after most of the install was done, it crashed again just like time. Now I'm scared to try again in case I break my computer. Putting games on our school issued laptops is looked down upon but allowed. The guy even told me he doesn't care if I put games on it.

that doesn't have your system info, it's 107 pages of characters in a random pattern. can you give us the model and service number on your laptop? service number should be on a sicker on the bottom.

I opened up system info like he said and hit file > export

It's a Gateway tablet
Model number TB120

What will the service number look like? There's one really faded sticker I can't read and another thing with a bunch of stuff on it. Some of it says
WM3945ABG
SCT: RCPINWM05-886

download error

the first time i downloaded ddo it said it completed the download but when i went to start it up it said that parts of the file were missing so i had to "repair" the files. when i did that it would not finish, it kept giving me an error.

C:/Program Files (x86)Turbine/DDO Unlimited/zlib1T.dll
An error occurred while trying to replace the existing file:
DeleteFile failed; code 5.
Access is denied.

i'm not exactly sure what to do to get this to work? any ideas?

Code 5 Issue

Go into c\ program files (x86)\ Turbine \ DDO Unlimited.

In this delete the folowing file. (AxInterop.SHDocVw.dll)
this is the file that has code 5 in it. After deleting restart your download. I had the same problem and found this to fix the situation. If you get a cannot delete because it is open in another window message. Restart your computer then retry deleting it.

Hope this helpd :D
