Hello,

I'm trying to install NVMe hotfix, because I've recently bought new m2 ssd disc, but I'm getting "the specified service does not exist as an installed service" error (0x80070424). Can somebody help me with that problem?

WD Black SSD SN750 - can't update driver

Just installed a WD Black SN750 NVMe m.2 SSD. Running W7 Pro. Device manager says "no driver installed"; I've tried to update the driver using the downloads suggested in another thread (KB2990941-v3 and KB3087873-v2) but the device manager doesn't recognize the files (Windows6.1-KB2990941-v3-x64.msu and Windows6.1-KB3087873-v2-x64.msu).

Does anyone know of how to get the device manager to install an appropriate driver? Nothing very useful on the WD website other than the download of the Dashboard which also doesn't offer any way of "seeing" the SSD in PCI (Bus4).

but the device manager doesn't recognize the files

Of course it doesn't. They are not driver files, they are windows updates.

Just click on them to install.

Yep, thanks. That's what I tried first - double clicked on them and after a few seconds, the system came up with an error message, "ERROR could not ...", so it seems W7 couldn't install them. I am running SP1. I'll try again but it doesn't seem to be loving me ...

Oh -I had unzipped them to folders first ... double clicked on the .msu files - tried both the x64 and x86 files. I presume that was what is required?
Thanks SIW2 for responding so promptly!
