Thanks in advance for any help. Windows 7 started booting in Safe Mode two days ago. I can't get OUT of Safe Mode and can't get INTO Safe Mode to correct this problem. When I try to restart, press F8 it just goes on to restart and run IN Safe Mode. I'm trapped!!

I went online and found directions saying to open 'System Configuration' which I did where I found that 'Normal' was not checked under the 'General' tab so I checked it. Then I opened the 'Boot' tab and found that 'Safe Boot' wasn't checked at all. So essentially 'Normal' wasn't checked and that was the only problem according to the instructions I found online.

I closed out after making sure that opening in 'Normal' was checked, clicked 'Apply', then choose to 'Restart' and did so. I did this SEVERAL times! Each time my PC keeps starting up in Safe Mode even after having supposedly corrected the problem in 'msconfig'. I have NO IDEA how to get OUT of Safe Mode so I can view my PC normally! Please HELP!!

I didn't work Brink. :( I tried repeatedly... did not try Option 3 'cause it kind of scares me. I guess I'm just to be forever stuck in Safe mode. I might try Option 3 tomorrow... it's too late tonight. If it doesn't work I'll just have to get Microsoft online I guess though I'm sure my warranty is out of date. Anyway, thanks so much. IF #3 works when (if) I try it I'll let you know. Thanks again, Jo

Just to make sure, it's completely normal to have "Selective startup" selected like below in msconfig. If all items are checked under "Selective startup" (same effect as "Normal startup" being checked) in the "General" tab, and "Safe boot" is not checked in the "Boot" tab, then you are not booting into safe mode.
