Can't open event viewer remotely on a win 7 pc

When I choose actions connect from the Event Viewer, and attempt to connect to a pc running Windows 7, I get this error message: Network path not found. This only happens on Windows 7 pcs.

You are obviously connecting from a machine on another OS. Which?

BTW to connect to eventvwr in win 7 it is not a right click but actions>connect to another computer.

Do you have remote admin turned on, on the XP machine?
