Hi guys,
Pardon my English, i'm from Holland.

I have a big problem, and i cant fix it.
i had a couple off folders shared, no problem we could work in them, and all was well. But now, the folders are not accessible. Also when i look at the network, i can only see my own machine. The other machine's are not there.

When i try to open my shared folders, i get this message: (keep in mind that its translated)
\\CLOUDAFS-HZFP\CLOUD is not accessible. You may not have the permission to use this network resource. contact the server administrator if you want to know if you have access permissions. The specified server can not perform the requested operation

I am actually pulling my hair out of my head. Can you please help me before i go bald?

Thanks in advance,
Regards Jazz

Try disable network adapter, leave home group, enable network adapter, go to cmd, type ipconfig /release, after type ipconfig /renew. And finally type ipconfig /flushdns. Use tha algorithm that I wrote. Then join again to network. If error present, write it there.

In control panel disable and enable network adapter. Ensure that in network share center options password protected is disabled and network discovery is on. Also sharing must be enabled.

Ensure that you share to everyone group in shared folder access.
Check that folders that you share, have everyone group added in security accsess with inheriting permissions from parent folder to files and sub-folders .

Hi, i did it, and still when trying to release or renew i get the following message:
translated: The operation failed as no adapter is in a state that this operation is allowed.

Also the icon for the home network is the same as a business network.

The weird thing also is, other pc's can see the one who shares (as a fileserver idea)But the pc just sees the local pc in the share. It doesn't see other machine's in the network.

Before you Cross The Bridge of Doom, You must Answer me these questions three:
Are you an administrator?
Do you have a firewall running?
Are all machines w7?

(Sorry. Had to do a Monty Python reference once I realized I had three questions to ask)

Hi,

I am administrator,
I have a ms essentials firewall running.
For now, all the machine's have access. I don't know how, didn't change anything. But the fact is, i cant locally reach the share. Meaning, i can click on network, the only pc is see in this network is my own, click on that, and i see all my shares, but when i try to open one, i cant.

When you click on the shares, does it give you an error message? If so, what's it say?

You may not have the permission to use this network resource. contact the server administrator if you want to know if you have access permissions. The specified server can not perform the requested operation

When i try to open any shared folder on the machine (machine witch i shared the folders on, i get the specified server can not perform the requested operation.

This is remote desktop software, that's good when only one person is trying to see files (locally, not the shared folders) correct me if i'm wrong. I'm already using teamviewer, same thing, different name.

Issue still is, when you find your own machine in the network, you click on it, try to open a shared folder, you dont have any access.

I think it's a permission issue on the shares themselves. Have you tried looking at the security settings on each individual share?

I don't know anymore. When i try to share any folder, on the C: or D: it get's unavailable. What does this mean:
The server cannot perform the requested operation.

That you need to look at the specific permissions for each folder. They need to be changed/tuned. (I'll post back with a link on how to do so. There's a how-to article here somewhere. I just need to try and track it down after getting some sleep)

Still after all this time, no luck. Permissions checked, everything turned to normal state. Still cant open my own share.

Any ideas??

Can you go to the folder itself, and open it, rather than going through shares?
