Can't run GTA IV on Win 7?

Downloaded GTA complete collection off steam, but can run it on Win 7??

I can click on the start up and run the Social Club and register with it. If i click play social club successfully authorizes the game, then nothing. Nothing loads up. Same when I click play offline.

I know it runs on Win 7...

Help?

Did u run it as Administrator ?
is directx installed ?
NET Framework installed ?
Windows SP1 ?

Make sure windows 7 and your graphic drivers are up to date. Patches shouldn't be a issue since steam patches the games once they are downloaded or they download patched.

That's be my first step too.

GFWL can be hinky when done out out of step.

And yep, Gta definitely runs on Seven.


Although are you installing Gta IV/EFLC/BOGT etc or San andreas?

Maybe your PC Can't Handle that game.

GTA IV but would like to play them all at some point.....

I have downloaded the client and have logged in to my account but still nothing.

My Specs are fine and should run it with no problems.

download this paste it in you gta folder : http://public.sannybuilder.com/GTA4/xliveless-0.999b7.rar copy only the xlive.dll file,
Are you sure that you have sp1,NET Framework installed plus Visual C++ ?
also try this go to gta folder and run LaunchGTAIV as Administrator
when you ran the client what happend?
when u run the game are you connected to the internet ?
Are you sure about your game key and email

GFW will not connect to the internet, see image. I always get this error.

I have SP1 and c++
The game was DL'd off steam. email and password are correct.
When I click play the social club goes and nothing.

Why you running the game from there run it from its folder find LaunchGTAIV and run it as Administrator

We can rule out the problem with GFW if you use the xlive.dll
