Can't save app key, not "Administrator"

Win 7 home 64 bit. I'm trying to install a key for the newsgroup program Newsleecher, which I'm reinstalling due to a crash. The key works, but the program keeps saying "Unable to save key, try in administrator mode", never mind that the user I'm logged in as IS an administrator. Tried running the "Take Ownership" right click command on the user files for this login, as well as on the install folder for Newsleecher, still can't save the key. This idiotic limitation of user access has always struck me as a car company bragging that its cars cannot be stolen, because they've WELDED ALL THE DOORS SHUT. Only down side; the owners can't DRIVE THEM either. I've tried to limit this as much as possible, but still run into this. How can I get the OS to allow the program to save the key?

TIA

Fred

If when you run the programme you right click and choose run as administrator see if that works

This seems to have been a problem as far back as Vista one solution was to loginas admin not just a account with admin rights Its a question were its storing the key in its folder, appdata or registry. You could try running it from a at cmd as that runs as system which is higher than admin from a cmd prompt type at time full path newsleecher /interactive
set time to current time plus 4 mins
you should get a better responce posting on their forums How-To's and FAQ's Section - NewsLeecher Forums
