Hey,

I'm having an issue with another computer's updates. When trying to upgrade to IE 11 it fails with an error saying that I need prerequisite updates. After I installed them and removed IE 9 as recommended somewhere, installing IE 11 still fails with error 9c48. I've tried some Microsoft FixIt tools unsuccessfully. The latest CBS log is attached.

Thanks,

I just ran the Windows Update diagnostic tool which found 2 errors it couldn't fix.

1. Service registration is missing or corrupt
2. Windows Update Error 0x80070057 (2015-09-30-T-11_34_33A)

Please follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions and post the requested data

If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)

Please also post the C:\Windows\windowsudpate.log file

Sorry about that, but I found a thread similar to my issue and did a repair install like they did and it fixed IE 9 being stuck halfway installed.

That's OK - so long as it's fixed now.
It may well have been my end-run recommendation anyhow.
