IE 11 Windows Update error 9C48 with Windows 7 SP1 x64

Stuck on Internet Explorer 10, can't update to IE 11 due to 9C48 error.

Also Windows update only shows the IE 10 update not IE 11 even though 10 is fully installed and updated. Attached is the CBS folder.

Download Internet Explorer 11 (Offline installer) - Internet Explorer

You can also try going to msn.com or Bing.com and with a minute or so you'll probably see a Update your browser notification on the top of the page,

Your CheckSUR results show considerable problems....

Summary:

It's not practical to attempt to fix this many of this type of error - there are too many variables involved.

The vast majority (if not all) of the problems related to IE10 - so it would be best to remove that completely and start again.
Follow the instructions here http://blogs.msdn.com/b/askie/archi...available-to-uninstall-internet-explorer.aspx to uninstall IE10 (don't restart until the Command Line tells you to and/or the command prompt returns).

Once complete, run SFC and CheckSUR again, and we'll see how that went.

it comes back with an error "Error: files of type "Microsoft-Windows-InternetExplorer-*10.*.mum" not found."

That's OK - accept the errors and carry on.

I've uploaded a file - ddwaa.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel's OneDrive
Please download and save it.

Right-click on the saved file and select Extract all...
Change the target to C:\ and click on Extract
Close all windows (it would be a good idea to print these instructions!)

Now reboot to the Repair Environment - as soon as the machine restarts, start tapping F8 - this should bring up the Advanced Boot Menu, at the top of which should be the option 'Repair my Computer'
Pick that
You'll have to log in with your username and password.

Pick the option to use a Command Prompt
At the prompt type
DIR C:\ddwaa
hit the enter key - if you get a 'Not Found' error try
DIR D:\ddwaa
or
DIR E:\ddwaa



The drive letter in use when you find the folder will need to be substituted (for<drive>) into the following command...



XCOPY <drive>:\ddwaa <drive>:\windows\servicing\Packages /y /i /s /v /h



(e.g. XCOPY P:\wfire P:\windows\winsxs /y /i /s /v /h )



run the command (it should take almost no time) and when the prompt returns, type
EXIT
and hit the Enter key to exit Command Prompt - reboot to Normal Mode Windows.

Now run SFC /SCANNOW in an Elevated Command Prompt
then reboot and upload the new CBS.log file to your reply

I should have remove the request for another SFC scan from the end of my last post - please do the file updates, then ignore the SFC request, then try the routine from post #4 again

it didn't give any errors on the cmd prompt uninstall, sfc and checksur complete, here is the new cbs

All the errors are still IE10 keys.

Sorry - I don't see any realistic alternative to a repair install
