Can't wipe disk

My computer has become practically unusable and I've been trying to wipe the hard drive to do a clean Windows install. Not one of the programs I've tried has worked: Dban, CCleaner, KillDisk, Erasesr, Diskwipe. I can't access HP Recovery including F11, etc. I think there must be a demon in my machine. I appreciate any help, ideas, suggestions, etc. you can give me. ec

And what does it say in the Windows installation window when you are asked to select the drive where Windows will be installed to? When you select the drive there should be a number of options.

I just downloaded several more, none of which can run when I click on .exe and run. Each has a different error message, some say can't install. I have the Windows 7 operating disks but don't I have to wipe the drive clean before I use the install disks? I really appreciate your reply. ec

No not really, you can wipe them inside the Windows installation.

Just do a clean all if you`re that worried.

Just deleting the drive to unallocated space is more then enough.
