Capture failure through 1394 port

I have one Panasonic NV G-27 and I edit on Avid Media Composer 4.0. I acquired a new system recently with core i 3 530 (2.93 GHz), Mbo Intel DH55TC, DDR3 4GB (1333) along with nVIDIA Geforce 9800.

On a PCI slot is 1394 card of Enter.

The OS is Win 7 pro.
Strangely, when I try to capture footage through this cam using this port and a 1394 cable, Avid shows up that "No I/O signal is present" in its capture window.

Funnily, I used the same camera long back on a P4 with Win XP...it worked fine while capturing footage using 1394 card and cable.

Is it a problem related to OS...as these 1394 cards could not be compatible with Win 7. Should I revert to Win XP? How to downgrade then?

I have no idea and am in fix.
The machine is showing up 1394 card in the device manager section.

Can anybody help me...please

samchat, welcome to the forums
In the Device Manager, check if the driver for the 1394 card is up to date.

Thanks....for quick reply.
I have checked....it shows up VIA OHCI 1394....unfortunately no driver found in the CD provided inside the pack of Enter (1394 card box). But it showed up right after installation of the OS and rebooting. No driver for the 1394 card was asked for.

Avid recognizes the 1394 device attached to the system. But the camera does not appear in the Hardware and device/ Printer section (just above the control panel)

do these firewire cards work in Win 7 Pro? The pack of Enter says it supports Win 98, se, XP.
