Carrying-out a in-place install/upgrade

Hi Greg,

I used the Reset_Windows_Update_Full.bat download which worked for me :)

Hi LB,

I too use Malwarebytes Anti Malware Professional and am considering changing to MS Security Essentials to see if that clears-up my issue with opening graphics. The error seems to have duped everyone but, it is something I can live with as it only happens once with each graphic/photo. If I go straight back and re-open the graphic/photo, nothing appears?

Thanks again guys
Graham

PS: Oh, thanks for the tip re, IE setting for receiving updates. Firefox is my browser of choice too.

MBAM is not an Anti-Virus but a malware scanner or protection, so I'd install and keep MSE in addition. This provides excellent protection. Buying MBAM is what I advise for users who become chronically infected.

I use MB Pro for malware protection/removal anyway. Just want to see if changing from Kaspersky will help sort the graphics error I receive :)

Wow what a cock-up! Uninstalled Kaspersky today and replaced it with MSE. After the scan and reboot Firefox would not work and Malwarebytes would not update its database? My error was also still there so I carried-out a System Restore and am staying with Kaspersky.

I don't recommend Revo any longer because it has messed up installs with the registry key removal logarithm it uses which is not as ingenious as CCleaner's.

Instead I use Win7 uninstaller then CCleaner to clean up Disk and Registry entries since it has never had a documented case of ruining an install while Revo has happened to me personally.

Thanks Greg, I appreciate that. I never knew that about REvo, I have used it for years.
