CBS Log's Scannow Corrupt. Can Someone look at this and tell me ??

While typring this Iw as running Acronis to test it , then I got the BSOD

Also I tried windows update again and the Win 10 error popped up again.... I do have the never 10 activated and that does nothing, only option when I open that is to re-active the 10 updates

At this point would you suspect that this is just a software issue and would it be simpler for myself to get my other HD and try doing a fresh install on Win7 64 Home Premium?

For the time that has been spent on this, and the time that will be spent on this, I think a clean install is the best and sensible option.

If you intend to do this, there are obviously things that we need to know!

[1] How many partitions has the other HDD got?
[2] Has the other HDD got a recovery partition [factory reset]?
[3] Have you got the original installation media?

The ideal scenario would be to completely wipe [including ALL partitions] the other HDD and clean install Win 7 SP1 HP.

The installation DVD you have should have most of the drivers on it.

You could also goto the Dell website and download the Dell drivers needed [at least the NIC [Network Interface Card] and Wireless Network Card or LAN Adapter drivers] and save them to a USB from here => Drivers & Downloads. This is where you enter your Dell Service Tag, Dell EMC Product ID, or Model Number in order to identify your product and get the latest available drivers updates.

Very familiar with the site, problems I have ad in the past was that they have many drivers that you do not need. What I did last time was to go into my device manager and get the driver information from there prior to installing the OS.

As I mentioned before I did install the OS on a fresh HD and I ran the Scannow right after and had the same error message. This has to be the strangest thing I have ever run into. Could be malware or who know what.

Prior to using the other HD I;m going to try running Malwarebytes and Zone Alarm to make sure it clean.

When you performed the last install, did you delete ALL the partitions on the HDD to leave a single unallocated partition, and remove any other disks attached?

It will not make any difference because if you do what I suggested above, everything gets deleted during the install process. Whenever I do a clean install, I never connect to the Internet or let the updates be downloaded during the installation process!

Well back again with a big fail. af first I was getting a error running the install disc about could not load some files , I believe that the DVD drive was going south, so I used my other drive and the install went ok.

So not I ran your scan tools and I got sort of the same error but at the end it says its fixed. So I restarted and ran again and get the corrult message, run the thing again and it says its fixed and same issue again.
Im think that this is a old pc and it just nas some issues that I have not been able to pinpoint.

Also have a question about your tool at the end when it asks you to pick "Y" and hit enter to reboot, should is reboot on its own? If so it does not do that I have to manually do that.

Which tool?

When you did the clean install, did you DELETE ALL PARTITIONS to leave a single UNALLOCATED PARTITION, and REMOVE ALL other HDD's FIRST?

You might need to run WU [Windows Update] and ONLY install the updates specific to your machine. Then run SFC again!

Perhaps you can tell us the exact order of what you did when you performed the clean install, it might help us to help you!

Under the heading Required Clean And Repair Install Data . . ., please run Required_Clean_And_Repair_Install_Data.bat, Option [2] from here => My BATCH PROGRAMS [Standalone] and then upload the results using the tutorial at the bottom of the above link [Upload to SevenForums . . .] and someone will look at it for you.

NOTE: The reason I link to the thread above rather than posting the .bat file here is because it makes it easier if I have to amend the batch script. This way, I only have to amend it and upload it to one location.

I know what it might of been!

If you were doing other things while the program was running, you needed to click somewhere in the cmd prompt Window, then the Y and Enter would have worked!
