Solved CCLeaner VS BCWIPE

Come on then brainy folk's, tell me which is better and why. I also want to know why one is better for cleaning with a a certain amount of passes.

Never used BC Wipe, I do have East Tec Eraser, but seldom use it. I have very little I'd want to securely erase. But CCleaner is perhaps the best freeware program out there, and that's a tough field with Firefox , Opera, etc. just to name a few. CCleaner can be set to do a 35 Pass Gutmann delete if you want. It's going to be slower, but unless you have a very slow PC, you can just carry on while it does it's thing. 35 passes means even hardware can't recover deleted files. Way overkill I'd say, but if that's what you are asking about. CCleaner keeps getting better and better, so with no personal experience with BC Wipe, I'm going to cast a vote for CCleaner. A Guy

Oh I've heard of BC Wipe, along the lines of Evidence Eraser, East Tec Eraser, etc. secure delete program. Not as highly regarded as years ago from what I remember. By the maker of Bestcrypt, a firewall, and...well, let me find it:

Has nice feature for saving favorite sites and passwords so I don't have to do them after CCleaner does it thing.

Have "Run Cleaner" and Registry tab monthly for 10 years without a hitch. Put it on hundreds of installs with only rave reviews. I agree it may be the best and brainiest freeware app out there, perfected to a t.

Someone should interview the author and find out how he did it. He may even be around here.
