Solved CD and DVD problems

What are the correct discs to use for making a cd and for making a dvd. I know this is something I should know but apparently I do not.

I am trying to make a dvd using dvd PLUS r and the cd I have tried to use is cd-r. When I put either one of these disc in the computer I either get a message that I am using the wrong disc or the disc comes out of the machine.

It could be possible that something is wrong with my computer in regard to making cd's or dvd's.

Suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

P.S. I just started having this problem probably within the past few days

Hi,
Cd's are usually just for data for another computer to read,
DVD's are usually for videos to be played in dvd players
What are you attempting to burn music/ videos/ or data ?

CD and DVD problem

Hi.Thanks for answering my post.

I am trying to download some music to a CD. Having no luck. Maybe I just don't know how to do it.

I have been using the dvd's for a project I am working on. What I am doing is putting pictures and music on a dvd. I have been doing this for a long time on my window 7. This is a project of pictures of my entire family and it is very important to me.

Is it possible that the program on my computer is where the problem is?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
You can if your not already use window movie maker for the project ?
It sounds like a slide show with music
Which a dvd -r/ +r or +-r will work fine

Burning simply music alone cd-r should be fine but you'll still need to use a program to burn the music too the disk,
The music needs to be already downloaded to your machine

Youtube might have some helpful videos
I referred to one that used shampoo 6 or something which was a freeware but always free all installation terms for added crapware to the free burning utility
