CDBurnerXP Not seeing my Blu-Ray Drive

I have an LG GGC-H20L blu-ray multiplayer (does dvd record). However CDBurnerXP reports that there is no compatible drive whereas ImgBurn sees it ok.

I prefer CDBurner's interface to that of ImgBurn's so I was wondering if theres anything I can do to fix this. I have looked at the LG website and the drive has the latest firmware.

Not really sure if this applies in your case There is a Microsoft article about setting upper and lower filter. But since the CDBurnerXP site doesn't give much help here goes:

To resolve this problem, remove the affected filter drivers. To do this, follow these steps:

   If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password, or click Continue.
2. Locate, and then click the following registry subkey:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
   Caution There can be many instances of the registry subkey that is mentioned in step 2. You must make sure that you are in the appropriate registry subkey before modifying the UpperFilters and the LowerFilters values. To verify that you are in the appropriate registry subkey, make sure that the Default data value is DVD/CD-ROM and the Class data value is CDROM.
3. In the right pane, if you have UpperFilters, right-click UpperFilters, and then click Delete.
4. Click Yes to confirm the removal of the UpperFilters registry entry.
5. In the right pane, if you have LowerFilters, right-click LowerFilters, and then click Delete.
6. Click Yes to confirm the removal of the LowerFilters registry entry.
7. Exit Registry Editor, and then restart the computer.

Note After you remove the UpperFilters registry entry and the LowerFilters registry entry, you may lose functionality in certain programs such as CD recording programs. In this scenario, you must reinstall any affected programs. If the problem recurs, contact the program vendor to determine whether an update is available for the program.

I doubt that it's a problem with your BlueRay but more prob with CDBurner XP not being updated to recognize the BlueRay

Most of the time, if a drive is not detected the fix for CDBurnerXP is to install the Intel Matrix Storage Manager

I did try the matrix driver after Id first reinstalled windows on my new ssd. However windows threw a fit and kept bsodding so I had to remove it.

@hopalong: I have updated to latest but its still the same.

It seems that CDBurnerXP has had some problems with AHCI mode and some have tried IDE mode and it works.
