change association icon?

How do I change the icon for an association? I have .txt opening in notepad, but I'd like to change the icon only when viewed in explorer, not change the fact that it opens in notepad.

This tutorial below can help show you how to change the default file extension icon to be what you want instead. It's the same in Windows 7.
