Change header to color, RGB = (223,75,39)

Hello all,

I'm using W7 64. I would like to chnage the windows header color to RGB = (223,75,39). See picture. How do I do that ?

Which one are you going to be using: Aero or Basic or Classic theme?

It does not matter as long as the header got the correct color. But say basic.

It does matter because each type of theme would have a different way of doing it, to do it with Aero and Basic the actual image in the .msstyles will have to be edited manually and then saved, which creates a custom theme and you have to do 1 of these 2 ways of Enabling custom themes for it to work.

It will try later today! Is it possible to chnage the frame as well ? I would like the frame to be some pixels thinner.

And I would like to change the color of the close button if possible ?

The frame and close button for aero theme are located in a Steam image #971 in the .msstyles.


The top frame for the basic theme are image #934, 964, 960, 951(depends if the window is maximize minimize or somewhere in between) in the .msstyles.

I would recommend that you create a new custom theme so you do not corrupt the original, look at Post #38 Here it will show you how.

If you plan on doing a lot of editing to the .msstyles I would recommend buying Ave's Windows7 Style Builder is the easiest way to make a custom theme. This program also breaks down at Steam image #971 into individual locations.

I feel alittle bit stuiped... but where can I find the .msstyles file ?

Is it possible to disable the Icon in the left upper corder as well ?

1) Change the color of the frame and the Close button
2) Disable the Icon in the upper left corner


I bought the tool, but I do not understand how to make the Changes
(see Picture). Do you have time to guide me ?

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner I've been sick.

The .msstyles is in C:\Windows\Resources\Themes\Aero folder, but like I suggested earlier you should create a new theme from scratch so you do not corrupt the original look at Post #38 Here it will show you how.

I have no idea how to remove the icon in the top left corner.

To change the top frame you'll need to edit the images(with a image editor of some kind) at Windows and Caption Buttons > Aero > Dwm Window > Frames > Normal > Top
The close button would be at Windows and Caption Buttons > Aero > Dwm Window > CloseButton > Normal Button

The first time you click on the Edit button it will ask you to set a default image editor you will have to navigate to its .exe to set it.
