Change My Documents Folder in XPMode

I have a Win7Pro(64) laptop that is connected to a server and part of a local domain. Currently the Win7 'User Files\Documents' folders are Offline synchronized with folders that exist on the server. I am trying to redirect the 'My Documents' folder from an XPMode Virtual Machine hosted on this laptop so that both the Win7 and XPM installations use the same set of user files. The problem is, I cannot find any folder structure local on the Host Win7 installation to redirect to. From XPM, the Win7 host directory does not show any of those Offline directories.

Do I have to create a new set of sych'd folders from within the VM/XPM?

I am a little worried that when I log-out from this domain that there will be a conflict between the Win7 folders synching and the XPMode folders trying to sync at the same time.

Anyone have any experience or knowledge about this situation?

I don't know if this is of any help to you, but here's how I have made XP Mode user folders available directly from my Windows 7, even when XP Mode is not running.

Simply, open Properties of My Documents in XP Mode and move them to host or wherever on the network:

Well, it gets even more complicated as I get into this thing. Since I attached this laptop to the Domain, I had to change the XPM networking to using the host Win7 network adapter so that the XPM machine could be authenticated. That seemed to be the only way I could get access to the files on the server. Now I find that with that setting, the XPM-VM cannot connect to WiFi networks through the host's WiFi adapter. I must use the Shared NAT networking from XPM. But this kills the connection to the server unless the user is required to switch back and forth for networking each time they go roaming from the server. I am beginning to think this is a Catch 22 situation.

I know this is not exactly on the original point of getting access to offline folders from the XPM-VM but it is related because the point of having the offline files is to use a distributed email program while away from the Server. This requires access to both the offline folders and also access to the internet via the host's network connections.

Now it looks like I have two problems to solve. How to bridge the network connection host WiFi to host LAN Card so I have a constant connection and visible to the network. And, going offline from within the XPM machine. I think it looks like solving the network connection issue comes first.

Do you have any experience with bridging network adapters like what I am describing?

My solution how to connect XP Mode to wireless networks is not very elegant; I have been using an external USB WiFi adapter, set up and installed in XP Mode. Doing this, it's possible (and easy) to have XP Mode connected to other network than host.

I'll "spread the word", ask some network gurus to take a look here.
