Hey, I was cleaning out some stuff from the "My Documents" folder because I was running out of space of my C: partition. I've been using mklink junctions to keep most of the content in C: stored on my D: drive. I thought maybe I could junction the entirety of "My Documents" in one go, so I cut/pasted the entire folder to D:.

Bad idea, I guess?

Short story: it didn't work. Despite having cut the "My Documents" folder, Windows said "My Documents" still existed on the C: drive and, therefore, it wouldn't create a junction. So I restored a backup I'd made of "My Documents" to its normal spot on the C drive.

Now, Windows won't recognize any files in the newly restored "My Documents". Programs which save to "My Documents" don't have access to any files there, but programs can save and load new data, to... somewhere.

When I click Start and checked under Libraries/Documents, it lists TWO folders named "My Documents" - which I'll refer to as "My Documents" and "Phantom". "My Documents" is the restored folder which I can access through "C:\Users\Me\". I can access "Phantom" via the Libraries window, and it seems to be the folder where my programs are currently saving and loading from, but I cannot locate "Phantom" anywhere on my C drive. A Windows file search for newly-created program data turns up nothing.

I don't want to mess things up any further, so any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

What you see in My Documents is a link to a folder, normally C:\users\"name"\Documents
Right click on each Libraries\Documents and you will find the path of where are the documents.
