Changing Media Center Background / Themes

Hey Folks

I thought I might have had a Free solution for a resource hacker app, "Resource Hacker", which I've used for years, but it doesn't seem to like the PNG format either...drats!
So I grabbed Restorator and tried a few myself, this is a couple..
(Admin/Mods - 2nd pic is not meant to be overtly "sexual", just liked the composition and color in the goo.., small portion blurred out. If not appropriate, please remove, but I think it's Ok. I would allow it on my other "Family oriented"sites)

Yeah I tried Resource Hacker, with no luck. Had to break down and use Restorator. Kudos on your themes Chapper. If anyone figures out to how change the font, then that will open the doors for more themes with a lighter background.

Looks good but you should go back to Blender and Grab your Name and pull it forward some.
Looks like Zav's.

Maybe even add Presenting Zay's

7MC Background

It's not the content in this Media Center background, but rather the technology. Remember the 3D pix and commercials during the Super Bowl? I grabbed one of those 3D pictures and applied it to MC. Not sure how well it will show in this post, and of course you need the 3D glasses that were being given away.

I like that 3d background. Anyone crack changing the font color as yet. I have been digging around with restore 2007, but have not found anything for the font as yet. I did however figure how to change the intro music that MC plays when it first launches. Just look for intro_A.wav, and make a new one.

Thanks zay. If we had a lot of 3D content it would make more sense though. If we could go to a darker font, that would be so cool. There are so many images that would be great for MC.

I will be checking out your intro music. That opens up possibilities.

yeah, finding an intro song for that MC would be a tough one. The intro is only 5 seconds long, be nice to see what some of you guys come up with.

I hate sound like a broken record, but has anyone been successful at changing the font type or color in MC?

Right, i've changed the correct background file & updated the ehres.dll file and now my taskbar is dead (cannot open, click icon and a message states that it connot be found, do you wish to remove), and i cant run any program from the start menu (even by typing into the search bar). This happens even before i try to copy the file to c:\windows\ehome\

Looks like 7260 x86 is not supported, will look into the possible cause.

Additional: it's even killed my entire desktop, cannot run any app

Well, don't know what the cause was, but i've just had to completely re-format my system

To Orbital Shark:>>>System restore did not help your issue? Or, did you forget to try that? I have learned the hard way, to create restore points and back up registry before new installs. Now don't get me wrong, I have followed your inputs for different posts or threads here in the forum, so I know you are very skilled and computer savvy. I myself have a strong IT background, but sometimes I forget to try the little things sometimes. Then I always end up kicking myself in the hiney for my oversight.

All working well now though i've even had a few themes running, from www.theme7mc.com as some of those are awesome

Orbital Shark - i had same prblem when messing around with the ehres.dlll using restorator 2007 - I only however had to do a repair install, and than was able to fix problem.
Also for future reference, anyone has this problem to reinstall media browser in a different folder than the default one, and it will work again. at least in my experience.
