Did it present a Boot Menu for you to choose the stick? If not it is skipping the boot menu, trying to boot the missing OS.

Reboot and tap the ESC key. You may not be timing it right. Just tap it vigorously from the moment you reboot until you get a boot menu.

Try this several times and if the stick won't boot then choose F2 and set Stick first device to boot in BIOS Boot order, same as shown here: How to Boot A Computer from CD or DVD - YouTube

Okay i got it to work now after all those tries.

I then deleted the 100mb partition

Right now i have

Disk 0 unallocated space 232.9gb total size and 232.9gb free space

Only option now is NEW or next. Next then right? Going to take it much slower now.

Okay i have a strange situation here. I downloaded microsoft essentials, adobe and my programs via ninite. I then did a windows update and it has 168 total files to update. It finally updated the whole thing and then my computer went to sleep. It didn't power off. So i then had to power it off and power it on. Once i did that, i had to click on computer repair and do a system restore to the last configuration. It showed that it failed and then my windows loaded back to where i downloaded my programs etc.... but all updates seem to have reversed.

Example the screen resolution which went to 1368x768 went back to 800x600. The yellow exclammation points in device manager showed again. Is there a reason why this happened? Im back to downloading the important updates again.

How do you know your computer went to sleep? If your computer is asleep you wake it by tapping the keyboard Enter key. If that fails press the Power Button to see if it Starts. Did you do this before you System Restored?

I suggest typing Power Options in Start Search box, open Power Options, set Display at 20, Sleep at 30, then select Advanced Power Options, select Hybrid Sleep and set Hibernate to 60. Sleep is woke by pressing Enter, resume from Hibernation by pressing Power Button which will say Resuming instead of Starting Windows.

Go ahead and reinstall your Updates til no more are offered. Then install your programs slowly with time between each to test performance. Ask back if you have any problems instead of randomly acting.

Im not sure how to explain it. But basically my asus laptop the screen would turn black. The power button is still on. However the screen stays black the entire time after a while. I click any button and the screen doesn't show anything. The only thing is i have to turn it off then turn it on again.

I like to mention that a while back when i tried to install the nvidia driver bc when my laptop connected to monitor goes to sleep each time, i heard this issue might be the drivers. So i then went and installed the drivers successffully... at least thats what i thought. Each time i would restart the computer after installing the driver update, my asus laptop would always have a black screen and thats it. So only way to fix this issue would be power off, power on and have to system repair. Many times it would not system repair correctly so eventually i would never be able to update the driver properly.

Do you know what this is called? Basically after an update whether its successful or not, monitor goes black , power is still on but thats all. Last time i waited a long time and nothing black screen. This happened when i did the driver update. Also many ppl in a forum said this nvidia driver had the same issue and never updated.

I dont think going to sleep is the right term. Going to sleep means you could just click something and screen comes up. What is the name of this that happens to my computer then called?

Install TeamViewer Download

Private message me the ID and password. Turn on speakers and mic.

I will take a look and go over your install while you observe and listen.

Hey. Its installing 84 out of 165 update right now. So you want to do the teamviewer now while its updating? Earlier when it finished updating to 100 percent... it took a very very long time. Right now its still taking pretty long. I think it has taken like 40 minutes just to update to 84 out of 165.

Is one of the Updates the Display adapter?

Wait to see if the problem with the monitor going black is resolved after all Updates.

Has it ever worked correctly?

Did you check the Power Options?

Hey interesting that you asked me that right now exactly.

Yes actually one of the updates is the adapter

Right now it shows 105 of 165 installing updates

nvidia graphics adapter wddm1.1, graphics adapter wddm1.1

So thats probably why this happened.

The only reason why i even bothered with updating my driver was b/c last year, i had bought a new monitor and connected it to my asus laptop. It would randomly go to sleep the monitor. It was an HP. My initial thought was the monitor had an issue and i read lot of hp monitors had this issue. However, i then used my asus laptop with my dell monitor... and it was the same thing. The thing is my dell monitor when connected to my dell xps 8100 never had this issue whatsoever.

I also used another monitor and oh behold same thing. So thats when i figured out its not the monitor issue, its the laptop issue which is why monitor would go black randomly when connected to my asus laptop. Some times it would go to sleep once every few minutes, other times it would every few hours. Usually on average i say if laptop asus on all day, it does it 3 times at least.

So when i had this issue, i went and updated my driver but after installation, i could never restart the computer. Had to system restore each time b/c the repair never fixed it. So b/c of this, i never bothered to update driver again b/c each time i did that, computer never loads and always turn black each time.

Someone had thought the reason my monitor go off randomly was power options. I always had NEVER for every option whether on battery or plugged in so thats not the issue.
