Cleaning your HD

Can any1 help?

I'm trying to locate where ALL the temp files are on my HD so I can delete them manually (Disk Cleanup just doesn't do enough).

I already clean C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Temp & C:\windows\temp but I also want to delete any backups of 'Updates' that windows downloads but dont know where they're stored.

I don't want to resort to using 3rd party software to delete files as some of them I don't trust 100%.


If any1 can help it would be superb

Everytime you install/upgrade a driver a copy is stored, so you may want to delete older copies.

As long as you can get drivers elsewhere for the devices you connect then no it is not a problem, they are there more for convenience.

If you scroll down to the comments of that link, people are saying not to delete file repository because it renders devices unusable, like usb sticks.
I'd be wary of this one.

Open windows explorer and use the search bar to search for "temp" and that will locate all the temp folders for you.
