Hello
I have a question, I recently upgraded from vista to windows 7 and have error code 24 not sure what the exact problem is I've tried looking for a solution but have found none. Please any help would be great.

Under the device manager/hidden devices
Mount Point Manager
MpKsl418f3ebd
This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed. (Code 24)

Do you have any yellow warning triangles on any devices in device manager?

Usually you can uninstall the faulty driver by right clicking on it and then reboot your machine and it will reinstall the driver properly. The only thing I am not sure of is exactly what this driver is.

The link led to a microsoft fixit that may or may not have helped.

You just uninstall the device with the error code, right click uninstall,
It might be an idea to make a back up before you try this remedy

Would you mind explaining? does it not start at all?

Since I last saw this post I have worked out that everything MpKsl with 8 random letters and numbers behind it actually belongs to Microsoft security essentials
It should never have been a problem in the first place.
I am guessing that in your case you had uninstalled MSSE and that is why this is why it showed the error code.
