Computer become slow and more ram after upgrade RAM

I'm using Windows 32 bit, after I upgrade to 4GB RAM, and change my OS to 64 bit.
1) I see my computer really slower. I'm using one background program is Norton internet security 2012. does it make my 64 bit computer slow?
2) Before I upgrade from 2GB to 4GB, I just use about 1-1,5 GB RAM (and when no software use, just 800 MB). But, when I use 64 bit version with 4GB ram, windows start with 1,4 GB ram, and when i use software (like before), it turn to 2,5-2,7 GB (amazing !!!!). Why, who can explain for me ?

who can help me,please ? Does 64 bit version is worse than 32 bit version ?

Norton won;t slow your PC unles it is doing its scan.
Did you put the new RAM in proper slots and is the new RAM identical to the old? Check your motherboard manual to see which slots are preferred.
Yes Windows 7 happily uses RAM and 64 bit will itilize more than 32bit under the same conditions.

Maybe you have a bundled oem copy of windows and it installed junkware/bloatware on installation. Click start, type run, and then type msconfig. Then go to the boot tab.

There is a list of all the programs that start on startup. I'd uncheck all non essential things. Well.. Personally I uncheck everything but that's me.
