So my gaming computer has had this problem for a while, but I've just put it a side and not bothered attempting to get it fixed, so I went back and used my old computer. However, I now want to get it fixed but want to try and fix it myself before taking it to a computer repair place.

So my computer is having a issue where once it gets past the Windows loading screen it will crash within a couple of minutes every single time without fail, and I will have to restart the computer only for it to crash again. It doesn't matter if I put the computer in safe mode, it will still crash. I am unable to system restore my computer as it will stall before it can actually restore the computer. The only thing that doesn't cause the computer to crash is when I just linger in the BIOS menu. This makes me think it's Windows that's causing the problem, however I cannot be 100% sure. Can anyone give me any advice or anything to help me solve my issue? It would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

What happens exactly when it crashes? When exactly does it crash?

Have you checked inside to see that all components are properly seated and that your CPU heatsink is not loose and is working?

I do not do any specific action when it crashes, it will happen within the first 2 or so minutes after it boots windows, whether I am just lingering on the log in screen, or am on the desktop.

I have checked inside the computer multiple times, all the hardware is properly connected to the motherboard and the components that have wires are not damaged from what I can see. The heatsink in definitely not loose and is definitely cooling the CPU with the fan.

Start with the hardware tests in Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7.

Then once the hardware checks out OK if it won't remain stable even in Safe Mode then switch to these steps for Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start to use boot disks to test for infection, check System File integrity, check over the boot files using Startup Repair, until it is stable enough to go back and complete the first set of steps completed from Windows which uncover most problems.

That is a problem of your OS, you can have it Repair using your installation disc. :)
