Computer crashes only when I have a password?

Hi,

Basically if I have a password enabled on my laptop and my computer turns off, when I turn it back on and try to log in, two things happen, either it just stays on the loading screen forever or it logs in and crashes on the desktop (this only happens when the laptop is turned off, not in sleep).

So I have to restart in safe mode every time, remove the password, then restart to login normally again.

Why is this happening?

Thanks in advance
