computer manager exploring drives not working w7 ult x64

when i go to computer manager/disk manager and try to explore a drive i get
"This file does not have a program associated with it to preform this action"
i can explore from every where else
i have some reg backups but dont want to import them because they are old
would like just to import the section to fix this
any know what section this would be in?
i searched Google and here could not fine the answer
