Solved Computer monitor shuts down. And audio loops, causing buzzing noise.

Something strange happened to me today (well the day I posted this thread). I was watching this: "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qj6Kg94vPEw" My laptop monitor broke one day so I had to connect a external monitor. The laptop monitor is plain black and doesnt work 100 (and 1)% of the time. Anyways what happened is that I watched that video then at some point the audio started looping causing buzzing and my external monitor shut down/went pure black without saying "Monitor going to sleep" or anything like that. The computer was on when that was happening. So I shut it down to stop the buzzing and the blank screen. Then I switched it on. Logged on, created a account on this website and so here is this thread. Is this normal? Should I be worried? Does this mean anything?

Update your Audio driver in Safe Mode with Networking, from the PC's Support Downloads webpage for your tag number.

If no newer driver then in Device Manager uninstall and restart the PC so it reinstalls the driver.

If this isn't sufficient work through the Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7 starting with establishing a Clean Boot, checking for Malware, checking System Files, and the other steps.

I agree with the excellent advice gregrocker gave, and I would add that the graphics chip in that laptop could also be getting too hot. Computers do funny things when the graphics processor gets too hot. One of the things is looping audio and a black screen. How long has it been since the laptop was cleaned out? Too much dust inside can definitely cause an overheating problem.

It shows in the Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7 how to monitor system temps to know for sure whether overheating is the issue, so you can do that to know for sure.

What about the other steps I gave you?
