computer not responding when USB device is plugged in.

Hi All,

my first post...
I have a HP Tx2z, with Windows 7 RC1 x64.
The only problem I'm having is when I insert a USB device, can be a wireless mouse, USB flash drive, USB hardrive, phone, usb keyboard (appears to be anything), sometimes my computer locks up COMPLETELY, and needs the power button to be held down to power off then reboot back up.
sometimes when I add the device, it all runs smoothly. It's been difficult to determine when under what conditions it occurs.

I think, If i plug in a device on battery, unplug it, then plug into AC then plug it in, it locks up. I think it could be related to the power source and previous hardware changes within the one session, I'm not sure.

Has anyone encountered this problem?
I'm upgraded my bios to the latest version F.14

its a rather annoying problem as time is of the essence, and I don't want to be losing any documents!

Which version of x64 because my windows mobile would not install on build 7201 but does on 7229

I have Build 7100 (run winver)

the devices install properly if the machine doesn't lock up, but if the machine locks up it doesn't seem to begin to install them.

I mean, everything stops, keyboard, mouse, ctrl-alt-del, hibernate, suspend etc. you have to hold the power down.

How do you update to a different build? Doesn't MS just have Rc1 out, i.e. 7100?
