Computer Problems Most Programs Not Opening

I just did a computer restart and now most of my programs refuse to open. Google Chrome, Curse Client, all the games softwares I tried so far, my document or any other folders, the control panel. Luckily few programs still open like Internet Explorer and Firefox and Xfire. What's wrong and how to fix it. I am running a 32 bit Window 7.
