Computer randomly freezing for a couple seconds.

Hello all! I am having a weird issue with my computer. My computer seems to randomly freeze when it is not in game. I recently installed some new ram and thought that was the problem so I checked it with memtest 86 (not memtest 86+ since it didn't work with my UEFI bios) overnight and when I woke up this morning there were no errors so I found that interesting. Next I checked the hard drive to make sure nothing on it was corrupt so I did a chkdsk /r and it is still happening after I did that too. Finally, I checked it with Malwarebytes then with Bitdefender Total Security to see if malware or a virus was causing the issue and nothing was found. If any of you could help me that would be awesome of you.

Have you tried to open up Task Manager and then select the performance tab and then click the button Resource Monitor and see if anything is eating up most of the CPU ?
Have you returned your CPU and GPU back to stock frequencies and voltages yet? Probably a Power Supply issue.

My gpu and cpu are stock clock and haven't messed with the voltages so I know that's fine. It looks like steam likes my cpu a lot and Firefox eats up A LOT or ram for some reason going 400k+ so that could be issue. I'll investigate this now and thanks for the help.

So even when I close Firefox I thought it stopped but now I notice my games freezing at random times too so I don't know whats going on

Might even be a driver or application update. Did this start after a particular update or anything?

This only started after I put in new ram, this time before I went to bed I took out all of my ram, gave the ports a little spray of air and switched their positions to see if that helped. So far its not freezing anymore but I'll let you know at the end of the day whether or not that helped.

All day when watching videos there has been no freezing, so it was either a.) there was dust in the port b.) switching it helped. or c.) i used my mobo's automatic timing adjustment for it instead of my own.
