Computer restarts in the middle of the night.

Hey guys! Currently i am leaving my computer on overnight, when i go to bed everything is okay, but then when i wake up it is at the login screen with no accounts logged in. So i am presuming that the computer restarted overnight. (Also i know that it restarts because it used to get stuck on the dualboot screen). It might be BSOD or something, how do i figure out the problem?

Check also All Scheduled Tasks to see if anything is scheduled to run then.

I'd also consider Hibernate which is perfected in Win7 and will allow you to walk away and leave your work out, after a certain time it will write the desktop to HD and shut down, but it starts up twice as fast or faster. I like it a lot. Leaving a PC on 24/7 wears out Power Supply and other parts much faster.

try disable boot from Optical in your BIOS - can't remember why, but it worked for a friends laptop - it was waking her up :lol:

also make sure that Wake on LAN is disabled

Possibly some program or Windows 7 auto updates.

Are their any other ways? Using the event viewer didn't work. I am thinking of setting up a video camera to record my screen.

Try normal Sleep and Hibernate to see how that functions.

I set Sleep to 30 and Hibernate to 45-60 on my installs and users like it best.

Observe how they timeout for a week.
