Computer seems sluggish, where to start?

While reading some of the tutorials, I would see a reference to areas of PC that I wasn't aware of so would go take a look at mine & found one that looks suspicious. I don't know what if anything to do about it. Any suggestions?

Place a check next to attact.txt and click Start . When done, DDS will open two logs

Attach.txt
Save two logs onto your desktop and upload them with your reply

So I gather the DDS didn't show anything? And what connection is there between that Event Viewer log & DDS?

As usual, when I opened defrag & run analyze, it said (what ever it says) not needed.

oops, damn, went to the 'Optimize' link & ended up losing my green desktop color that I posted about a week ago!! Now I'm back to square one with that. Now my DT color is black. I kept messing with "Let Windows choose, Best Performance, Best Appearence" & now am completely lost again. I think my biggest problem is that there's an idiot sitting here typing!!! I should have never been allowed to buy a computer.

I do run MBAM regularly, always clean but just did it anyway, again it's clean.

I read some of the tut but I'm quite computer illiterate & have no idea about 'page file'. I was about to just give up then decided to at least check on something so am attaching a shot. Is it what you wanted to know? Why does this relate to me, I don't have BSOD?

I've kinda been working on a couple or so of the troubleshooting steps but with some other personal issues going on this last week I'm not getting very far & am having soooo many interruptions I don't know whether I'm coming or going. And am beginning to wonder if it's my imagination or have I lost patience in my old age, is my PC, IE really that slow?

I would also appreciate an answer on why I'm being asked to do things that pertain to BSOD when I "haven't" had any?

I have made screen shots of some of what I've done so far & am wondering if I should post them all separately (I think they're from different areas) or can I put them all in one folder & zip it to post?

Now you don't need to do all of them and some will lose some of the bling like transparency which from one old timer to another is a bit over the top fancy stuff really.

Mate if some of these don't improve matters much I just notice too you have 3Gb RAM now I am going to suggest that you get a kit of RAM that is a pair that come together in the same pack and that also means the memory sticks will be more evenly matched probably coming form the same batch produced.
Bang it up to 4GB the board you have supports up to 8GB as it is - it may also be that the odd number of sticks is gumming up the works especially if it is of different brands.

Sorry but I couldn't find a memory support list for that machine or else I could have suggested something

I'm baaack. Have dabbled in several areas but sooo much I just don't understand, is waaay over my head. I've even tried referring to 'glosseries' to try to understand computer lingo. Wasn't planning on coming back here just yet but found something in Event Viewer this morning that spooked me so looked a bit farther then decided to come ask for help. What I see makes me worry about losing my disk & at the moment I have no backups other than the 4 DVD's that I did according to eMachines shortly after getting this PC in February 2012. I know I should have my butt kicked but money is tight for buying an external disk,etc. for reliable backups.
I'll post a couple shots of parts of my Event Viewer. Maybe I'm not reading it right. I also realize that more info will be needed but will wait to see if anyone is willing to jump in to try & help someone that will be a PIA to work with.
1st shot is how my desktop looks after saving bits & pieces of info to try & help me thru some of my cleanup. 2nd will be what I found this morn. in Event Viewer that then prompted me to the 3rd shot.
