Computer shuts off automatically

The last few weeks, I have been having a problem with my computer shutting down while I am working on it. Everything will be fine and I will be typing or reading something online and all of a sudden my screen goes black and the computer is off. I turn it back on and it will be fine for a while and then it will turn itself off again. It has done this 3 times in the past 2 hours. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what this could be and how I can fix it? Thanks!

Sounds like something is getting overheated.

How do I fix that? It is my laptop and has plenty of ventilation.

I would take it to a computer shop to get the insides cleaned and looked at for heat issues, unless you are a technician yourself, this is your best bet.

If you have had it in dusty or pet proximity environments for a while, it can get quite dirty, also are you lying it flat on a surface during use, or if not, on a base with fans? Those 2 things are ideal for laptops circulation issues.
