What next, I'm lost with all the advice.

Well, I'm done for awhile. The laptop is under warranty and she bought it from BestBuy (I know) so she's going to see if they'll set it back to factory setting no charge. if not, I'll try the "0" "Toshiba Recovery Wizard".

Should that restore to "store bought" I have saved all her data.
