Computer suddenly started running very slow

Klamfyr,
Yikes, sorry to hear the issue is returning and is intermittent. Please have a back up strategy in place as a precaution and I would invest in a small spinner and image my SSD to that as well. You may also consider biting the bullet and looking for a discounted premium SSD from many great sources that provide support. I use a Crucial and I'm very happy with them (3) but many hear use other brands and the cost to performance has dropped to a affordable level as you well know.

Fortunately I don't need any backup, I only use the SSD for OS and software :) I have another HDD for all other stuff to avoid slowing the SSD. I'm not biting the bullet just yet, I payed 345 dollars for the SSD so it better start working soon :D

Just to do some out-of-the-box thinking, could it perhaps be a software problem and not the SSD?
Another weird thing, it says "Waiting for cache" everytime I load a page and it takes forever to load pages like google. I've emptyed the cache as well as flushed the dns, still samething. Just wondering if that might mean something to you
I dunno, it might make sense, and correct me if I am wrong here, the cache is located on the SSD, so perhaps it just takes a really long time to access it due to the SSD bug.

I'm not 100% on this but on mechanical drives the cache is a small flash memory chip and the larger the better. On a SSD the entire drive is one unified field of flash memory chips and this is why you never defrag them as it doesn't speed them up but only wears them out. The fact the system says 'waiting for cache' has me thinking (dangerous concept!) that the SSD drive does in fact have a gremlin and I would contact the seller/mfg'r and discuss this issue and voice your displeasure. You dropped serious coin on this and it no doubt came with a stated warranty of several years.

I just installed w7 on my HDD to make sure that the problem was with the SDD, it is :) PC up and running fine again now :) The asked me at the store if I wanted insurance for 100 dollars extra, hopefully when it is a firmware bug they will change it anyway.
Thank you so much for your guidance, you truly been helpful :)
I'll let you know what happens

Finally got a response :)
"Hello Rasmus,

Was this a fresh installation of the Operating System or a clone – we recommend a fresh installation if this is not the case. Also, you may want to ensure you install the Operating System under AHCI mode in the BIOS SATA settings – you may need to see if your machine manufacturer offers AHCI drivers if you installing Windows XP. Each BIOS setting is different and I would recommend consulting the manufacturer’s manual changing BIOS settings.

If the above does not work, we can call your SSD under our Test & Replace warranty service where we will replace the device for you if found faulty. Please let me know the outcome and my colleague will issue you a returns form"

I can't seem to find the AHCI setting in the BIOS ? Kind of weird
